Information for eye-tracking studies.

If you have signed up for an eye-tracking study, please keep in mind the following:

  • Glasses with anti-glare coating, transition lenses, and bifocals make eye-tracking difficult or impossible. Please do not wear these.
  • Contacts can also cause difficulty if the eyes are dry or the contacts move around a lot. If you have contacts, please bring your glasses as well and be prepared to switch to glasses if necessary.
  • Eye makeup can disrupt the eye tracker, Please remove eye makeup prior to the experiment.
  • If you have any eye conditions or vision problems, please contact the experimenter before you sign up to see if you are eligible.
  • Please be sure you conform to all other eligibility requirements listed for the individual study; these can vary from study to study.

Information for MRI studies.

If you are considering signing up for an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) study, please read these instructions carefully:

  • ​Participants in MRI studies must be MRI safe. This means that there must be no metal in or on your body when you enter the magnet. Before you sign up, review the safety guideliness at this website carefully: https://mri.byu.edu/Pages/volunteer-info
  • No eye makeup of any kind is permitted.
  • You must be right-handed, with no history of head injury or neurological disorder.
  • NO permanent retainers.
  • Please be sure you conform to all other eligibility requirements listed for the individual study; these can vary from study to study.
